Caught off guard by Swishy's last-second DNP due to the sudden onset of Not-Even-Asian Bird Flu, the InvAsian battled a surprisingly tough A-Ball squad down to the waning seconds of the fourth quarter. The Albatross, who had been carrying the team all night, asserted himself in the paint with a short turnaround jumper to break a 42-42 tie, and then later hit two free throws to ice it.

Rad finished the game with 13 points, 18 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Shooting guard Eric Chang was active offensively all night, posting 13 points as well. Ray 'The Swan' Lieu also chipped in with 7 points and 6 rebounds, as well as a couple of moves to the basket that made the ballerinas at Carnegie Hall envious. But the main star of the game was team defense, which held A-Ball to a meager 12 points in the second half, including a paltry 4 points in the fourth quarter.

The InvAsian evened their season record at 3-3, and rekindled hopes for a top 5 finish in the league, which would give them key double-elimination status throughout the playoffs. Next game is March 16 against Len Kamdang's Gummi Bears at 9pm.

With the start of the summer 2005 season looming, the Tri-State InvAsian franchise has weathered all the offseason free agent drama experienced by other teams. SG Henry Park joins the indomitable InvAsian captain Felix Shen in the backcourt, while up front Defensive Player of the Year Rad Pavlovic and All-League second team selection Sabir Rassiwalla both return with a vengeance. Core members Gin Chao, Ray Lieu, Eric Yu and Andre Liu look to take the next step in raising this team to championship caliber.

No easing into things...TSIV faces reigning champions GenX in their first game on Sunday, June 19th. Other games to circle on your calendar include matchups against rivals Oh Holla!, Shawn de los Reyes' Da Bien and the flying ninjas known as the Funkytown Ballers.
